Get to know Dr. Kelly Glow “Queen of the Kulture”
Q: When it comes to fashion, what is your style?
A: Let me just say that one of my biggest pet peeves is going to a function and seeing somebody else rocking what I’m rocking. I will find the most obscure item then, I will have to cut it up or rip it up or something like that. I love wearing hats, especially fedoras, I have a fedora fetish. If my fans want to send me something, please send me a really cool fedora! I love wearing really unique jewelry pieces. I love wearing African print and head wraps. My style is like “Urban-Afro-Rock.”
Q: When and why did you become an artist?
A: Becoming an inspirational artist was a personal decision that I made much later as an adult. I’ve been a performer all my life. I started rapping in high school, I went to North Atlanta School of Arts. I come from a spiritual family rooted in Christian values. My father became a Lutheran pastor when I was around 14 years old. In college, I was in consideration for a recording contract with a major record label. I remember sitting in the boardroom watching these A&R’s argue about my marketability. They were talking about me in third person as if I wasn’t even in the room. The deal eventually fell through, but that experience prompted me to start Kelly Glow Entertainment. I stepped away from making music in 2009, but I eventually released another album in 2015. Now, there’s no turning back for me.
